St. Louis, MO – FOX Sports’ Joe Buck solidified his status as the finest, most beloved NFL play-by-play man in  sportscasting history by being named “America’s Favorite NFL Announcer” for a record 12th straight season in a national CNN/SI poll released today.
“Gosh, did I win this again? I don’t think I can squeeze any more of these awards on my mantel,” smiled Buck from his St. Louis home. “I’m flattered, of course, to receive yet another of these honors. It’s nice to be reminded how much NFL fans around the country adore me and my work.”
“Joe Buck is the MAN,” said NFL viewer Jacob Potter of Sherman, IL, expressing a view shared by millions of Buck loving fans across the nation. “When he calls a game, he just makes the action come alive. The excitement that tinges his voice on every big call, the the raw emotion that he displays during key points of the game. There’s a reason why he’s known as ‘Mr. Excitement’, you know?”
Continued Potter: “I swear, it doesn’t even matter to me who’s playing. If Joe’s calling it, I’m watching it.”
According to Buck, the secret to his enormous popularity is simpler than you might think.
“Football is a game of thrills, intensity, and high drama, and I want to be sure that my delivery always reflects that. So on every play, I simply imagine how a robotic, lifeless, monotone-voiced bore of an announcer might make the call. Then I do the opposite of that thing. Otherwise, I’d run the risk of being dull, or even worse, annoying to the fans at home, and lord know I never want to be perceived that way.”
