BALTIMORE – During his stay at Baltimore’s Hyatt Regency hotel, San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, in town with the rest of his team to play the Ravens in an NFL preseason contest, was observed at half past midnight walking to the hotel’s 15th floor vending machines wearing flannel teal and orange “footie pajamas,” emblazoned from head to toe with dozens of Miami Dolphins logos, according to several eyewitnesses on the scene.
If his smile looks a little uncomfortable, it’s because the Dolphins thong underwear he’s wearing is chafing him.
“Frankly, I was quite surprised to see a man walk past me in the hall wearing these full-body pajamas that looked as if they belonged to an oversized child,” said fellow hotel guest Gwendolyn Whitmore, 64. “At first I thought maybe it might be a fraternity initiation. Or perhaps the poor dear was an intellectually challenged man-child suffering from a learning disability of some kind. But then, I realized that with pajamas like that, he obviously must be a part of that Miami football team, the Dolphins, and that he was probably in town to play our Ravens. Honestly, the thought that he might be a member of a completely different football team never even crossed my mind.”
According to reports, this is not the first time that Kaepernick, a known Miami supporter, has shown off his Dolphins swag during team road trips.
“I swear the guy blows half his paycheck on ‘Phins merchandise,” said TE Vernon Davis, Kaepernick’s roommate during the Hyatt stay. “When we got to the airport in San Francisco, he was carrying a Dolphins backpack. On the plane, he wore a Dolphins sweatshirt and ball cap, napped with a Dolphins travel pillow around his neck, and played Candy Crush on his iPhone, which of course was contained inside a Dolphins smartphone case. Then we get here to the hotel, and after brushing his teeth with his Dolphins toothbrush, he puts on those stupid Dolphins footie pajamas, and climbs into bed, which he had just refitted with Dolphins queen-sized bed sheets and pillow cases that he brought with him in his Dolphins duffelbag. “
Added Davis: “You know sometimes, I almost question whether his devotions truly lie with the 49ers or not.”
